Tim Freedman is the founding member, lead singer and keyboardist for The Whitlams. Formed in 1993, Freedman co-wrote the bands breakthrough hit No Aphrodisiac released in 1997.The band is known for nine different albums including Love This City (1999), Torch the Moon (2002), Little Cloud (2006) and, the compilation; Truth, Beauty and a Picture of You: Best of the Whitlams(2008). In 1998 The Whitlams were awarded Song of the Year for No Aphrodisiac, Best Independent Release for Eternal Nightcap and Best Group at the ARIA music awards. Three years after the release of Truth Beauty and a Picture of You Freedman released his solo Album, Australian Idle.

Freedman graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sydney and hosted the music chat show The Tim Freedman Sunday Sessionon Sydney radio station Vega 95.3fm.
